No: 56, 15 March 2019, Press Release Regarding the Terrorist Attacks Against Mosques in New Zealand

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 15.03.2019

We have received the news with deep sorrow that many innocent lives were lost and many injured as a result of attacks against two mosques in the city of Christchurch in New Zealand.

We strongly condemn these heinous attacks. We convey our condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives as well as to the people of New Zealand.

We believe that the New Zealand Government will conduct the investigation of the attack, which seems to be motivated by Islamophobia, in the most effective manner and the perpetrators will be brought to justice as soon as possible. In that regard, we welcome the statement made by H.E. Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand.
