No: 390, 18 December 2017, Press Release Regarding the Assassination of the Mayor of Misrata /Libya
We have learned with deep sorrow that Mohammed Eshtawi, Mayor of Misrata/Libya was abducted and subsequently assassinated yesterday (17 December) evening by some unidentified gunmen.
We strongly condemn this heinous assassination targeting the stability of Misrata and of Libya. We hope that the perpetrators will be apprehended as soon as possible and brought to justice.
We wish Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and convey our condolences to his family and the people and Government of Libya.
