We strongly condemn the terrorist attack carried out today (11 May) in an outdoor market in the Sadr City district of Iraq’s capital Baghdad, which, according to initial reports caused death of more than 50 and injury of more than 100 people. We reaffirm our support to the Government and the people of Iraq in their fight against terrorism.

We wish God's mercy upon our Iraqi brothers and sisters who lost their lives in this terrorist attack, convey our condolences to their relatives as well as the Iraqi people and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.
