We have learned with deep sorrow that according to initial reports, nearly hundred people lost their lives, some were injured and many people went missing as a result of the avalanches which have occurred in Panjshir Province of Afghanistan since yesterday.

Turkish people wholeheartedly shares the agony of the brotherly Afghan people with whom it has always remained together in joy or grief.

We wish mercy upon those who lost their lives in this disaster, convey our condolences and wishes of patience to their bereaved families. We wish also a speedy recovery to the wounded and hope that the missing people are found safe and sound as soon as possible.
